Goals: Identify something I am passionate about and create a video able to express that
Struggles: The video was not downloaded as the correct size
Successes: All elements, such as video, audio and lighting coming together to create a vintage feel
Takeaway: Good lighting is crucial to the quality of a video
Doc Mini - Student Art Show
Class: Communication Arts 355: Introduction to Media Production
Completed: With a partner
Goals: We were allowed to pick any topic, but had to interview at least two individuals, capture lots of b-roll, and the video had to be at least 3 minutes long
Struggles: We filmed the interviews later in the day and lost natural lighting, so we went back a different day to film video of the galleries
Successes: My partner and I worked well together, switching off who was filming and who held the boom mic during the interviews
Takeaway: I really enjoy capturing stories when people get to talk about something they're passionate about
Short Film - Obsession
Class: Communication Arts 355: Introduction to Media Production
Completed: With a group
Goals: Brainstorm a story idea, write a film script, film and edit video, add music and any necessary effects
Struggles: We rewrote the script multiple times, trying to make it more relatable and less cheesy
Successes: Everyone was open-minded about the process and I was able to contribute something every step of the way
Takeaway: Communication on such a large project is crucial for its success
